Honesty and vulnerability are things that I crave, so here goes…
This week was rough and chaotic. Our family schedule was normal. Nothing crazy happened, but I felt chaotic. I felt out of sorts. I felt unbalanced.
I did not meditate. I was not consistent with my workouts. I ate foods that made me feel bloated and lethargic. I allowed negative and toxic energy into my space. Cue the negative self talk: “I’m so fat. I am fake. I am a hypocrite. I am ugly. I am unworthy. I am not good enough”.
Ouch.
I chose to sit in my self-pity for about a day. I chose to let the negative self talk consume me. I chose to allow myself to continue on this path of self-destruction.
Sound familiar? We’ve all been there. And I want to show you that I’ve been there too. I struggle with my own insecurities. Just like you. I struggle to balance everything. Just like you. I get inside my own head, sometimes. Just like you.
The good news is that we don’t have to live this way. We have a choice. Our daily choices shape and mold our lives. I had to ask myself: Are my choices this week helping or hindering me? Is my mindset serving me in a realistic way?
This morning, I took some time to write down my daily routine. I highlighted the parts that needed to happen in order for me to stay balanced. I found some chunks of time to get a few more things done and to spend more time with my son. I also found that my morning meditation is vital for setting the tone for the day. Whether it is 2 minutes or 20 minutes. Visually seeing where I can improve put things into perspective.
This week, I encourage you to take a look at your morning routine. How does your routine set the tone for your day? How does your routine serve you? What are some ways you can improve on your routine to better serve you and your family?
Best in Health,
Rachel
